Industrial manipulator

An industrial manipulator is essential when handling heavy loads on a production line. We were approached by a leader in the steel thermal-treatment industry who commissioned us to design an industrial manipulator that would remove a 10-m-diameter ring from a melting furnace, transport it three metres, and lower it into an immersion tank for a specific amount of time.

Double bucket System

A client asked us to create a double-bucket system for tree planting that would allow them to dig two holes simultaneously, thus doubling productivity. Vallée rose to the challenge and built a heavy-duty double bucket for excavators. Each bucket can handle up to 0.82 cu. yd. (under standard SAE J742) and is 61-centimeters (24-inch) wide, which equates to an overall width of 3.35 metres (132 in.).

Lifting Anchor for loaders

We were contracted to create a tool to transport a loader inside a ship. Our engineering team designed a lifting anchor that can be screwed onto a loader’s frame and secured to the roof. A ring on the anchor allows the vehicle to be lifted by crane onto the ship. The anchor is 3-meters (10 foot) long and can lift up to 22,680 kg (50,000 lb.).

Mining Cable Manipulator

Following an injury to a worker, a mining company called on Vallée’s engineers and designers to create and produce an arm that could safely pick up and move 7,000-volt shovel power cables without any ground personnel. In less than six weeks, we designed and built the Mining Cable Manipulator (MCM), which later won a prize for innovation at a workers’ compensation challenge.
